Samoa News is proud to highlight the military service of the Mano sisters — Julianne (left) and Rosemarie (right) — both currently on active duty in the US Army.

The younger of the two, Private First Class (PFC) Julianne Sulutupe is a combat engineer, currently stationed at Fort Irwin, California. A graduate of Faga’itua High School, Julianne completed basic military training earlier this year in May, and went on to Advanced Individual Training (AIT), from which she graduated on July 3rd.

“Eni”, as she is known to family and friends, comes from a family dedicated to military service. Her older brother Rafael was a member of the National Guard and older sister Rosemarie Mano-Johnson, 26, is currently stationed at Schofield Barracks in Hawaii.

“Rosie” is a graduate of Faasao Marist College Preparatory School and is a Unit Supply Specialist with 6 years of service under her belt. She has been stationed at various locations around the world, including Camp Humphreys in South Korea, and Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

She is married to Harold Derrick Johnson, also a US Army soldier, and they have a daughter: RosaBella Manūmailagi-So’o Sulutupe.

Last month, Rosie completed the Advanced Leaders Course (ALC), which is a branch-specific course that provides soldiers selected for promotion to SSG an opportunity to enhance leadership, technical skill, tactical expertise, and experience needed to lead squad-size units.

Thank you  for your service Rosie and Julianne — just two girls from the east side, serving the US proudly. Hooaahh!
