A woman was found naked and dead at Mulinu’u on Monday morning.

While it was not possible to get an official comment from the Samoa Police last night, the Samoa Observer understands they have launched an investigation to determine how she died.

A man who spotted the woman floating on the water at Mulinu’u told the Samoa Observer he was shocked.

“I couldn’t believe what I saw,” he said.

He did not want his name published.

But he said the woman looked like she had been dead for at least a few days when her body was found.

“I was walking on the seawall heading to the Court house at Mulinu’u when I saw a body floating on the sea,” he said.

“When I went to take a closer look, I saw it was the body of a female.”

The Police and emergency workers were contacted.

They arrived immediately.

The witness said he suspects the female could be in her 40s or 50s.
