Is it true that PM Fiame Naomi Mataafa tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week?
Apia, SAMOA — Point blank, Secretary to Cabinet Agafili Tomaimanō Shem Leo has laid to rest rumors that Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa was tested positive for COVID19 earlier this week.
During a press conference Thursday Agafili labeled the rumors “untrue and unfounded”.
He had met the Prime Minister in her office a few minutes before to the Press Conference and she is as well as can be.
“The Prime Minister is not COVID19 positive and she is well. And if she is tested positive, that information will be made public,” said Agafili.
“I can confirm the Prime Minister is in good health and security measures are in place to ensure she is protected from COVID,” he reassured noting that the virus does discriminate because everyone is defenseless and vulnerable.
