HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Jason Momoa knows how to get our attention.

To attract eyeballs to a recent video in which he talks about the environmental impacts of plastic and promotes an aluminum can company, he decided to ... shave the beard he’s been sporting for years.

The connection might be a stretch.

But essentially Momoa says that humanity needs to make a change from plastics to aluminum. And so he’s making a change, too ― to a decidedly smoother-faced version of himself.

(Don’t worry, he didn’t touch the locks.)

“Goodbye Drogo, Aquaman, Declan, Baba,” Momoa says in the video, referencing some of the most well-known characters he’s played.

“I’m shaving this beast off. It’s time to make a change. I just want to do this to raise awareness that plastics are killing our planet. There’s only one thing that can save our planet ― and it’s aluminum.”
