Melbourne, AUSTRALIA — A Samoan delegation was part of the “Growing Our Food” trade show held recently at the Melbourne Convention Centre in Australia.

The team is led by the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Labour (M.C.I.L.) Chief Executive Officer Pulotu Lyndon Chu Ling, newly-appointed Australian Liaison Officer, Fulisia Saleuelese, Principal Labour Inspector, Faiiletasi Seuao and Pacific Labour Facility Engagement Manager for Samoa, Anna Harvie.

The three-day trade show brings together representatives from Australia’s fresh produce markets, with 200 companies exhibiting and more than 3,400 industry representatives present.

According to a statement, the trade show covers all stages of the horticulture industry, from growing, staff management, product quality and waste management, water conservation and technology advances.

It said the Samoan delegation is promoting the Seasonal Worker Program and the Pacific Labour Scheme.

“Australian employers are interested to hear about the positive reputation of Samoan workers, who are known for being strong, hardworking and fast learning,” added the statement.
