Samoa reports murder on Christmas Day, the 4th of the week
Samoa Observer is reporting police have launched a murder investigation into the death of a 28-year-old man on Christmas Day.
This makes it the fourth murder to be reported this week. It is still unclear as to what transpired leading up to the tragedy but it is believed to have been fueled by alcohol.
A 20-year-old man who is believed to be the main suspect has been taken into police custody for questioning in relation to the matter, the Observer reported.
Last week, a 12-year-old girl was allegedly beaten to death by her father, while a 29-year-old man lost his life in a violent altercation with his 49-year-old brother-in-law.
And on Christmas Eve, a 31-year-old female police officer died from gunshot wounds.
Her de facto partner, Edward Fanueli has been charged by police with murder and the case will be called for mention on the 30 of January.
