Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Prior to a presentation to the ASG Hazard Mitigation Council at the Governor’s Office yesterday, Lt. Gov. Talauega E.V. Ale in his role as acting governor met with officials of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).

 The USACE team arrived earlier this week. No details were available at press time as to specific meetings the USACE team will attend while on island.

However, the Senate Public Works Committee has called for a hearing later this morning with Public Works, Port Administration and USACE officials.

Expected to be raised by senators is the USACE “Notice of Violation” against ASG over unauthorized activities in the Tula shoreline area, and alleged activities performed by Paramount Builders Inc. in Amaile Stream in Nu’uuli without a federal permit.
