Man charged with rape and molestation of young girl, ready to plead

Ioakimo Felise, who is still in custody since the time of his arrest in April of this year, appeared before the High Court yesterday morning for his second pretrial conference. When his case was called, his attorney, Acting Public Defender, Michael White informed the court that they had received discovery and an offer from the government last week about this case, and his client is prepared to enter a guilty plea to the charges against him.

Trump administration officials have been sending babies and other young children forcibly separated from their parents at the U.S.-Mexico border to at least three “tender age” shelters in South Texas, The Associated Press has learned. The following is Amata’s response: “Children are gifts from God. Our national immigration policies should seek to preserve, protect and encourage the family unit as much as possible, so I support keeping families together as much as possible during the stages of the immigration or asylum process consistent with existing law.
